If there is no god, then what the Hell (oops, not at all an applicable word) is Going On?!
Science, in general, seems to want to take the attitude:
"I won't believe until you prove he/she exists!"
How can water prove to a goldfish that the ocean exists if the goldfish refuses to listen to the
water?
---If he sends him a message from another goldfish, the disbeliever can simply deny the veracity of
the teacher and ignore the truth.
---If the goldfishes mother tells him of it, he can attribute it to superstition.
---If the water does anything directly, he will attribute it to a natural phenomenon and deny any
implication that it means anything more.
In the end, the only way that the water can teach the fish is for the fish to decide to
listen to the water.
Even when his only clue either way says over and over that it is, he will choose to deny the existence of something that he has no power to effect. The only loss is his own.
Science, in general, accepts a theory as a working fact as long as it:
Does not the belief in God provide this?
Given that man is mentally the most advanced species we have been able to find, using only 10% of his brain thus implicating a future of mental development that could exceed the development capacity of evolution, that man has managed to dominate the planet and is now reaching beyond:
The point is: The theory that there is an active and interested God
works.
The theory that there is none does not work, answers no questions, in fact only creates
more.
In point of fact, there is NO reason to take the stance that there is no god.
Ok, now that I've got that out of my system. If you don't agree with me, mail me and give me your argument peter@outfitters.com. I'll try to respond if I can.
